Embodied Confidence: 30 Days of Radical Mindset Shifts for Gymnasts, Divers, Cheerleaders and Figure Skaters

I am very pleased to announce the publication of my first book(s)!, Embodied Confidence: 30 Days of Radical Mindset Shifts for Gymnasts, Divers, Cheerleaders and Figure Skaters. It is important to honor and recognize that the lineage of my work, writing and orientation generates from a synthesis of many teachers. Through self study, formalized education, learning from a variety of teachers and programs, mentors and friends, I thank those who have influenced my work.

I am forever grateful to my father, Dr. Alan Goldberg, for my initiation into the field of peak performance and for over 10 years of mentoring. Much of how I look at performance potential and navigating blocks and fears in my work with athletes stems directly from the foundational pillar of studying with him, along with learning from all of his brilliant books and audio programs for athletes, coaches and parents. He is a true pioneer in the field and I am honored to continue to bring his legacy and frameworks to more athletes, coaches and parents.

Additionally, I want to acknowledge and express my gratitude for Tayla Vexler Nessbit, the owner of Hampshire Gymnastics in Amherst Massachusetts, her staff and amazing gymnasts! It is my time with the team for over 3.5 years which initially fueled my love of helping athletes and coaches navigate fear, blocks and access their confidence and potential!

I want to honor Peter Levine and his pivotal work of Somatic Experiencing®. This modality informs all layers of my work and is the lens through which I examine and work with performance problems.

I want to express my gratitude for Didi Firman of The Synthesis Center and my study with her in the field of Psychosynthesis, along with my work with Susan Jewkes Allen at Synthesis San Fransisco. This holistic psychology has offered a framework, practices and ways of orienting in the world deeply rooted in meaning and value and are infused in my client work and all of my writing.

I want to acknowledge and express my gratitude for Sue Hitzmann, manual therapist and creator of the MELT Method®. At my first training she said, “You don’t cause pain to get out of pain” and that has stuck with me as I educate and support athletes in their repair and recovery processes. As both a MELT Instructor and student, I experienced the extreme healing benefits of this revolutionary self care method in my own body. The MELT Method is a vital resource in my work with athletes to help them expand their body awareness, support pain free training, facilitate healing, and provide an easy hands on tool to promote nervous system health.

I want to honor Gabrielli LaChiara, a healer and my teacher, and her body of work: Infinity Healing Practice. After completing the Introductory Year of training and working with her and Infinity Healing Practitioners for the last 3 years, her orientation and perspective are woven into the lens in which I work with clients and think about neuroscience and energy.

I want to honor my dear friend and colleague Andrea Bordenca, who is the CEO of The Institute for Generative Leadership and visionary for her organization Lead Yourself Youth (among other things!). Our collaboration together on programing for parents, educators and youth and her support and big vision is inspirational and contributes to my motivation and drive in the world.

Additionally, I want to thank my dear friend Susan McNamara of Remembering What Matters Most. Our connection, conversations, work and facilitation together orients my perspective on embodiment and living from a place of connection to what matters most.

I want to honor and offer so much gratitude to both my book coach, Leah Kent for her stellar organization, cheerleading and magickal supportive space for my vision and my business coach, Kat Colling for her support and big visioning and strategy. I have never felt so supported before!

Of course this acknowledgement section would not be complete without mentioning my beautiful husband and two vibrant boys. Without their patience and support and many days of letting “daddy” run the show, these books and bringing my work into the world would not be possible.
